INFORMATION COLLECTION

Membership at TACA Virtual Airline is contingent on providing one’s name and a valid, verifiable email address. These are the only personal details we require. Members may voluntarily provide additional information such as instant messenger addresses and physical location coordinates; however, this is completely optional. We obfuscate our pilot locations by a random distance of +/- 1.5 miles on each display. TACA Virtual Airline also records the IP address, host name, and browser information for every request and connection made to our website and/or ACARS server software. These records are retained indefinitely. This information is not publicly released and is retained for the use of TACA Virtual Airline staff in providing new features and ensuring compliance with TACA Virtual Airline policies and procedures.

HOW WE UTILIZE THE INFORMATION

We may use the information you provide about yourself or others to fulfill requests for our products or services, respond to inquiries about offerings, and offer other products, programs, or services that may be of interest. We sometimes use this information to communicate with you, such as notifying you when we make changes to subscriber agreements, fulfilling a request by you for an online newsletter, or contacting you about your account. We sometimes use the non-personally identifiable information that we collect to improve the design and content of our websites and to customize your internet experience. We may also use this information to analyze site usage and offer you products, programs, or services. We will disclose information we maintain when required to do so by law, for example, in response to a court order or a subpoena. We may also disclose such information in response to a law enforcement agency’s request. PRIVACY OPTIONS

TACA Virtual Airline members have the option of making their email addresses visible to all users (including anonymous users), other TACA Virtual Airline members, or TACA Virtual Airline staff only. Any Instant Messaging addresses provided to us by our members will be made visible according to the same privacy settings. TACA Virtual Airline has its own Facebook application. You can give this application access to retrieve your email address and publish to your Facebook news feed even when you are not logged in to the TACA Virtual Airline website. Doing so allows us to publish information about your completed ACARS flights or any promotions or accomplishments you achieve as a member here at TACA Virtual Airline. You can opt out of this at any time through Facebook by removing our application’s rights to read/write your profile information.
